Bonuses & Promo

Bonuses & Promotions

21.co.uk quickly piqued my interest with its live casino-focused welcome offer. Most online casinos exclude live games from their bonuses, so fans of games like XXXtreme Lightning Roulette, Crazy Time, Exclusive Infinite Blackjack and many others will be excited to see what’s on offer.

The package consists of £6 in live casino chips plus a 100% matched deposit up to a maximum bonus of £50. To unlock these rewards, players are first required to opt in and deposit £10 — nothing untoward there. However, there’s then a 40x wagering requirement to fulfil before the deposit and chip bonuses are awarded.

To put that in context, a £10 deposit would require you to bet £400 to unlock a £10 bonus. I’m really disappointed to see such a harsh wagering requirement applied before I’ve even had a chance to use the bonus. There’s also a seven-day time limit to complete the wagering, and a three-day limit to spend the deposit bonus if I do manage to unlock it. For me, it just isn’t worth risking that amount of money for such a small reward — the additional £6 chip bonus isn’t enough to make up for it.

If you’re happy to crack on with the wagering process to unlock this bonus, there are a few additional T&Cs to be aware of. Notably, only eligible live casino games contribute to the wagering requirements, ruling out bets on slots, slingo and RNG table games. Furthermore, the £6 chip bonus is gifted over the course of three days in £2 chunks. There’s then a £50 win cap applied to each £2 chip.

Although wagering requirements in the 35x–45x region are found at many top sites like Hyper Casino and All British Casino, those sites do at least allow you to play with the bonus and then decide if you want to try and convert any winnings into withdrawable cash. At 21.co.uk, players have to cough up large sums before they can enjoy any freebies. It’s a similar story at sister site LeoVegas on its Weekend Live Casino Offer — although this comes with 10x wagering, there’s a whopping £50 minimum deposit.

Everyone has their own personal preferences when it comes to casino bonuses, which is why it’s a good idea to browse all the available options using our comparison tools — click over to the TopRatedCasinos homepage to compare 21.co.uk’s offering to more sites. For something truly player friendly, I’d recommend Betfair’s no deposit, no wagering free spins that are available to all new players.

Design & Usability

I found 21.co.uk’s design basic but attractive. The black background with pops of neon blue and bright white is effective and easy to read. The left-hand menu stays in place as you browse through the games, so it’s easy to jump to the promotions page or help centre when needed.

The games library is split into six main categories: live casino, slots, gigantic jackpots, jackpots, table games, and instant wins. On the homepage, meanwhile, you can check out new slots and hand-picked featured games. Although this categorisation ensures it’s easy enough to find titles that are relevant to my interests, there are no additional filtering options to whittle down what’s on offer.

I’d like to be able to browse slots by theme and number of paylines, for example. Similarly, sites like All British Casino and QuickSpinner allow players to browse games by software provider, but there’s no such option here. If you do have a specific title in mind, you can of course type it into the search bar for quick access.

Games

21.co.uk stands out for its impressive range of progressive jackpot slots, offering the biggest payouts in the business. Between the ‘jackpots’ and ‘gigantic jackpots’ sections, there’s loads to explore — there are TV-themed games like Millionaire Megapays alongside classic slot favourites that have been given the progressive jackpot treatment, such as Fishin’ Frenzy Jackpot King. Slots in these sections do differ in terms of their approach to jackpots, so be sure to read up on them before you start playing.

There’s also keen focus on live dealer games at 21.co.uk. There are a number of exclusives you won’t find elsewhere, including Evolution’s Private Blackjack and Free Bet Blackjack, where double down and split bets are automatically placed for free where eligible. Scrolling down the live games page, there’s also a nice collection of game shows from top developers like Playtech, Stakelogic, and of course Evolution. Vegas Ball Bonanza is my personal favourite — essentially a more exciting version of bingo.

Elsewhere in the live dealer section you’ll find roulette, poker, baccarat, and dice games. Couple all that with a great range of RNG table games — including low stakes games like 20p Roulette — and there are very few gaps in this games library. Classic slot games like Rainbow Riches and Book of Dead also feature alongside plenty of slingo favourites, plus Megaways titles that offer up to 117,649 ways to win.

Slots

Fans of slots certainly won’t be disappointed with 21.co.uk’s collection, as it contains some 347 different slots altogether. Within the collection are nearly two dozen progressive jackpots, which offer players the chance to win some huge cash prizes that can be as high as six or even seven figures. The casino has lots of the most recently released games and some of its most popular slots include Cleopatra, Starburst, Rainbow Riches, Pixies of the Forest and Thunderstruck II. Game variety is good since the slots come from over a dozen different providers.

Table Games

The table games collection at 21.co.uk consists of exactly two dozen different games. Ten of them are poker variants, with the rest of the collection made up of five blackjack games, eight roulette games and a game called three-card brag, which is one of the predecessors to poker and is rarely found at online casinos. Plenty of information is provided for all the games, with things like minimum and maximum bets and RTP listed. The lowest bet you can place on any of the games is £0.10, while the highest is £16,250.

Live Casino

21.co.uk has a total of seven live casino games, four of which are by Evolution Gaming, while the remaining three are by NetEnt. The collection includes three live blackjack games, two live roulette games, one baccarat game and one poker game. It’s quite a good live casino games collection since there are four different game types available. As it stands, the collection is quite good indeed compared to what some other online casinos have to offer.

Cashier

21.co.uk supports a modest range of payment methods that will serve the needs of most customers. Visa and Mastercard debit cards are supplemented by Apple Pay, which is ideal for making quick and secure deposits. There’s also the option to transfer funds via a bank transfer, although I find this option much too slow given deposits can take a day or two to land.

As a loyal PayPal user, I’m pleased to see it’s an option here both for adding and withdrawing funds. Although 21.co.uk doesn’t offer specifics, it’s fair to assume it’s the fastest option available on the site, as PayPal payouts are typically processed in under 48 hours. The help centre does state that withdrawals can take up to five working days, so I expect that’ll be the case for debit cards and bank transfers. These speeds are pretty standard when it comes to UK online casinos — I’d recommend verifying your account straight away to avoid any delays.

The main drawback here is the absence of other e-wallets like Neteller and Skrill. Existing users of these services might not fancy switching over to PayPal, especially as the former offers a range of loyalty perks. That said, PayPal is the best option if you’re looking to avoid fees and is the most widely used out of the three. I’d like to see a prepaid card service like Paysafecard added to the list soon, as it’s popular among players looking to keep their bank details private.

21.co.uk doesn’t currently accept Revolut as a payment method, but other than that there’s no mention of any restrictions, meaning you can use PayPal to make a qualifying deposit and claim the welcome bonus after signing up.

Mobile Experience

21.co.uk’s mobile site follows the same design as the desktop version, featuring a dark background and the light blue logo up top. I found the graphics — such as the previews for each game — crisper on my iPhone than on my Windows laptop, but that might just mean it’s time to invest in a new device!

I was able to easily bring up the main menu by clicking the three lines in the top left — from there, you can browse the different game categories and get tips from the blog and help centre. Each section of the site is smooth and fast loading, and the full games library is available so you can take your favourites on the go.

App Review

The good news for mobile casino players is that there’s a 21.co.uk app available to download for iOS and Android. The app has more or less the same functionality as the mobile site, but you’ll be able to set up push notifications to hear about any new offers, as well as enjoy quicker access to the site.

Summary

Overall, there’s a lot to like about 21.co.uk. Its streamlined design may lack a few handy navigational tools, but the library itself is packed full of top quality games from a wide range of software providers. There are very few gaps when it comes to the games on offer and I was particularly pleased to see a healthy dose of slingo titles and jackpot slots.

Further positives include the 24/7 live chat service, which is bolstered by additional email support, along with the help centre which’ll answer most common queries. The inclusion of PayPal ensures players looking for fast withdrawals are covered, but I would like to see a greater range of payment options overall. Betfair, for example, additionally supports Neteller and Skrill and has payouts starting from just £1.

The main drawback for me is the welcome bonus and the absence of promotions for existing customers. Having to contend with harsh wagering requirements before a bonus is released is not the norm, so it’s a shame to see 21.co.uk take that approach. That said, players that are happy to wager larger amounts and are keen to play live dealer games will likely get some value from the bonus. After all, it is rare to be able to play live casino titles with a welcome offer.

If you’re more interested in a vast games library than a solid collection of player-friendly promotions, then I’d certainly recommend signing up to 21.co.uk and trying it out for yourself. Click the ‘go to site’ button to head over and get started!
