If you’ve played at any other sites running on the Aspire Global platform, Betgrouse will look pretty similar in terms of its layout. It’s not particularly unique, but I’m a fan of the colour scheme — a midnight blue background punctuated with spring green highlights across the various navigational features. The result is an interface that’s modern, classy and easy on the eyes.

In terms of navigability, I do feel like some improvements could be made. Scrolling through the library is simple enough thanks to large, colourful thumbnails, but there’s not a lot of options for narrowing down your choice. Betgrouse only features a few rudimental categories such as slots, jackpots, and featured games, so if you’re looking for something more specific — say, Megaways titles or slots with avalanche reels — you’re out of luck. Thankfully there’s a search function, which I found indispensable on account of the fact it allows users to enter a developer name and be hit with a list of all its titles in the library. The rest of the site was simple enough to get around, and everything was more or less where I expected to find it.

Software

Considering the breadth of the games library, it’s hard to say a bad word against Betgrouse’s range of partner developers. Nearly all the big names are checked off, as is the case with most online casinos — NetEnt, Play’n GO, Microgaming, among others. Interestingly, Playtech was absent from the catalogue. But considering the vast number of alternatives, most players won’t notice.

That was certainly the case for me, as I typically sidestep the industry behemoths in favour of lesser-known names. Generally, I find these smaller games studios are putting out quality on par with the veterans, but often with a greater degree of creativity and flair. Red Rake Gaming, Spinomenal, Wizard Games, and Hacksaw are a few great examples. Sadly, my personal favourite Nolimit City was missing from the library, but I saw this as an opportunity to explore something less familiar.

Moving over to the live dealer side, the bulk of the library is provided by Evolution. This developer is the kingpin of the genre, a reputation partly owed to its thrilling Lightning twist on casino classics. Skywind and Quickspin are present too, and I’m glad to see additional variety even though the Evolution representation is comprehensive.

Time to dig into what’s arguably the most important element of any online casino: the games. You’re thrown straight into the library as soon as the Betgrouse homepage loads, with tantalising thumbnails inviting you to explore all this site has to offer. The tab defaults to ‘Featured Games’, where I found the usual line-up of all-timers such as Starburst, Big Bass Bonanza, and Fluffy Favourites.

I hit the all-encompassing ‘Slots’ tab — I’ve already mentioned my gripes with the game categorisation so I won’t repeat them here — and began to browse. At the very least, Betgrouse highlights newly added titles with a small label. As I conducted my review in October, many of these recent releases were suitably spooky: Treasures of the Count by Wizard Games; Halloween Wins by Red Rake; Book of Spinoween by Spinomenal; and Pragmatic’s Big Bass Halloween spin-off to name a few. In any case, it’s reassuring to see longstanding players will always have something fresh to try. I also found a solid collection of Slingo games, although I had to search for these manually.

In terms of RNG table games, things are restricted to blackjack and roulette, although there’s decent choice of variants within this section. If you’re looking to explore a wider range of casino titles, I’d recommend visiting the live dealer library instead. I found well over 100 options here, spanning everything from roulette, blackjack, and craps to wacky game shows such as Dream Catcher and Funky Time. Speed, multihand, regional variants — Betgrouse has it all, and handy stake and player count labels make it simple to choose a table that suits you.

Betgrouse truly excels when it comes to payments — they’ve done an excellent job in this area. The first thing I noticed was the sheer amount of choice.

On top of your usual debit cards and bank transfers, there’s fantastic e-wallet coverage, with players able to pick between PayPal, MuchBetter, Skrill, Neteller, ecoPayz, and AstroPay. I’m a big fan of the latter service, which lets users keep their bank details private by generating a virtual prepaid card to use instead. It’s not just quantity where Betgrouse excels in payments, but also quality. Pretty much every method has the potential for instant withdrawals. While this isn’t a guarantee — as you could still end up waiting a few days — I have to applaud this casino’s efforts to deliver fast payouts. If you’re looking for the quickest withdrawals, I’d recommend opting for an e-wallet as these methods are typically the fastest, just make sure you’ve completed all necessary KYC requirements in advance.

Support Options

Support is probably the area I’d most like to see Betgrouse make some improvements. Players may get in touch via email or using the built-in web form. This feels a little dated when most online casinos are moving to live chat functionality, which usually facilitates a quicker resolution to your problem. There’s no option to pick up the phone either — although that’s becoming increasingly rare these days. In fairness to Betgrouse, the team is available seven days a week between 7am and 11pm GMT. When I got in touch with a few queries, I had a helpful, courteous reply within an hour. It’s good to see the support offered is effective, even if it may not be via my preferred channel.

Firing up the Betgrouse mobile site, I found it to be just as capable as on desktop. Everything was quick to load and felt responsive, and the games library was just as well-stocked. My main qualm here came down to the lack of filtering options — a flaw shared by the desktop version of the site — which becomes all the more noticeable when you’re using a device with a smaller screen. That said, I didn’t run into any other problems, even on my rather antiquated iPhone 8.
