I have to be honest — my first impressions of GenerationVIP based on appearance alone weren’t the best. To my eye, it doesn’t look especially modern, nor does it really lean into the ‘VIP’ aspect of its name. Maybe my expectations were a little too high, but I was hoping for something akin to the subtle luxury of BetMGM’s chic black and gold theme.

Of course, it should be said that appearance is a minor factor for most. In my opinion, usability and functionality is more important. Browsing the site, I was pleased to find it snappy and responsive, with animated flourishes to give a sense of interactivity. The only point I really ran into trouble was when searching, which was a little laggy. This is presumably because the site is struggling under the weight of its enormous games library — not a bad problem to have!

However, GenerationVIP could do a lot more to improve browsing said library. The games categories are quite rudimental, with no real way to filter through slots other than jackpot titles. The live casino page is better equipped in this regard, with more granular sorting between categories like blackjack and roulette. In fairness, not a lot of sites get this right in my opinion, and while GenerationVIP’s search feature was a bit slow to load, at the very least it did a great job of unearthing specific titles or developer catalogues.

Software

Essential to GenerationVIP’s vast games library is its partner developers. I was pleased to see the biggest names featured, like NetEnt, Microgaming, and Play’n GO. Discovering the full roster was a little more difficult due to a lack of developer filter, but searching turned up plenty of smaller studios as well, including Hacksaw, Booming Games, and Red Tiger.

Personally, I love to try out titles from these lesser-known names — the game quality often rivals that of the veterans, but with fresh approaches or unique mechanics. I’d be keen to see GenerationVIP work with a few more developers in this regard, as names like Yggdrasil, Nolimit City, and ELK were absent.

On the live dealer side, Evolution holds the fort with its industry-leading casino classics and game shows. I have no complaints here — when it comes to this category, Evolution is the best in the business. Off the bat, I was struck by GenerationVIP’s enormous library. The slots number more than 1,600 and that figure is always growing thanks to regular releases. Naturally, this many titles means vast choice, so there’s bound to be something catering to your tastes. Flicking through the ‘featured games’ section, I found plenty of tried and tested favourites — Book of Dead and its sequels, Big Bass Bonanza, and older games like Wolf Gold.

Every theme imaginable is here, from ancient history to outer space and everything in between. There’s a substantial collection of Megaways titles too, plus a dedicated section for progressive jackpot games like Mega Moolah and its spinoffs or Blueprint’s Jackpot King range. You’ll find a range of high and low volatility games to suit all budgets, plus high RTP titles if you’re looking for the best value. I was also excited by the substantial number of slingo games, which are great if you want to freshen things up.

Although the slots library dwarfs that of the table games, there’s still a decent handful here, including low-stakes options like 10p Roulette, more realistic 3D titles, and exciting blackjack variants like Vegas Downtown and Single Deck.

Naturally, the best choice for these traditional casino favourites comes in the form of live dealer games. Once more, blackjack and roulette tout the most variety, including the likes of speed, auto, and VIP tables. The baccarat offering is similar. The only area lacking in my view is the game shows — while you’ll get access to mainstays like Crazy Time and Mega Ball, other sites have a bit more choice here. All things considered though, there’s not much missing from GenerationVIP’s library.

Support Options

Customer support is definitely an area where GenerationVIP can improve. For starters, it was difficult to find it — and the last thing you want to be doing when you run into an issue is hunting around for a way to get in touch. There’s no large ‘contact us’ button in the menu or the footer; instead, I found an email form via the FAQs. Interestingly, the FAQs mention that you can contact GenerationVIP via live chat although I found no trace of this option elsewhere.

Those frustrations aside, the support team are prompt and responsive. They’re available seven days a week from 07:00 to 23:00 GMT, which will likely suit the majority of players. During my testing, I received a reply within an hour.

So, what could GenerationVIP do better? For starters, it’s as simple as making the contact options easier to find. Then, I’d love to see the addition of the aforementioned live chat. A phone line would be a nice option too. Sites like CasinoCasino and Fun Casino do a fantastic job in this regard, with phone, email, and chat options available 24/7.

Translating a desktop site to the smaller screens of phones and tablets isn’t an easy job. In my book, GenerationVIP has done a great job here. The site looks markedly different, with clearer categorisation and a little more breathing room for the games on offer. As a result, I actually preferred browsing the library on the mobile site, which felt snappy and responsive while giving me a clear view of the available titles. Speaking of which, you’ll get full access to the catalogue of more than 1,600 games no matter the device you’re playing on.

My only gripe is one shared with the desktop version of the site, which is the limited filtering options. This becomes particularly noticeable on small screens, as there’s much more scrolling required to get from A to Z. However, all other areas of the site worked flawlessly.
