Grosvenor Casino Review

Grosvenor is one of the UK’s oldest and most reputable gambling institutions, so it’s no surprise that its online casino platform is of the highest quality. I was deeply impressed by the superb gaming selection, including several exclusive slots and live dealer titles you cannot find elsewhere. The interface is also straightforward to navigate, with several categories for the many different genres and subgenres. Grosvenor also provides integrated sports betting and poker platforms, generating a remarkably versatile experience. My other main highlights were the lightning-fast withdrawals, brilliant mobile apps, and generous rewards scheme. Keep reading for a detailed Grosvenor casino review, and use our exclusive sign-up link if you like what you hear.

Bonuses & Promo

Bonuses & Promotions

By and large, Grosvenor has an above-average attitude to bonuses. The dedicated “Promos” section in the top right-hand corner of the screen uncovers various benefits, from an initial deposit match welcome bonus to free games, cash prizes, and more. Sports betting enthusiasts will also be happy to find a great range of bonuses, so you’re well catered for regardless of your overall preferences.

Despite the great selection of ongoing promos, the Grosvenor welcome bonus is slightly disappointing. New customers can access a £30 bonus after depositing at least £20 – smaller than most other offers that usually involve a 100% up to £100 offer plus additional free spins. However, closer examination of the offer paints a rather different picture. Sure, £30 isn’t as large as the potential £100 you can find elsewhere, but it does equate to a 150% deposit match rather than just 100%.

The terms and conditions are also more beneficial than many other platforms like Mr Play or Queenplay. For example, there is a 30x wagering requirement on the deposit and bonus amount, meaning you must bet £1500 before withdrawing real money. For context, clearing the full bonus wagering requirements with the previous two examples requires £7000 in stakes. Nevertheless, even clearing £1500 can be difficult, so it’s better to treat these bonuses as opportunities to try new games and hone in your tactics rather than winning real money.

I’ll list the main Grosvenor welcome bonus terms and conditions below:

  • £20 minimum deposit;
  • £2000 maximum withdrawable cash winnings from bonus;
  • 30x wagering requirements;
  • Playthrough contributions per game type: 100% slots, 10% live casino games, 50% jackpot and progressive games;
  • 30 days time limit for fulfilling the wagering requirement.

I also like the relatively large £2000 maximum for withdrawable cash winnings obtained from the bonus funds. Casinos have to set these limits to protect themselves to some degree, but many platforms take things a little too far. For example, Rialto Casino limits its free spins winnings to £25. There’s no such funny business at Grosvenor, and you’d have to do very well to win over £2000 after satisfying the withdrawal requirements, anyway.

The welcome bonus may ultimately be a little uninspiring, but there are no such issues with the ongoing promotions. I had a comprehensive array of options, with daily opportunities to score free spins, bonus funds, and more. Here are the options available at the time of writing:

  • Daily free-to-play Hi-Lo games with various prizes, including free spins, slot bonuses, live casino bonuses, free bets, poker freeroll tickets, or £100 cash;
  • Daily opportunities to win a slots bonus up to £6 for every £100 staked on your favourite slots. Remember to opt-in to take advantage;
  • Enjoy monthly freebies and weekly deposit bonuses after staking at least £50 online and at a land-based Grosvenor casino;
  • Slots Masters tournaments and battles pitting players against each other to see who can hit the most winning spins while playing online slots. Prizes can include free spins, cash, and bonus funds.

The Slot Masters concept was probably my favourite ongoing Grosvenor promotion, bringing a nice social aspect to the gameplay you don’t often find at online casinos. The operator even adds treasure chests to the gameplay that can provide special items to help you deplete your opponent’s score. This sounds very similar to the mechanic pioneered by Duelz, an online casino I’m a huge fan of.

WAGERING REQUIREMENTS

The wagering requirement that is assigned to this welcome bonus is 5x. However this multiplier must be applied to the sum of both your £20 deposit, and your £30 bonus. This means that you’ll need to wager £250 of your own cash before you can withdraw bonus winnings. This is actually not too high when you compare the welcome offer conditions at other sites.

Design & Usability

Grosvenor has a professional design that some players might find a little bland. It certainly lacks a little character and atmosphere compared to the aforementioned Duelz, but I don’t think this is a particularly bad thing. There aren’t any jovial backgrounds or casino characters. Instead, players have access to a no-thrills, streamlined display with real human mascots and an emphasis on practicality over anything else.

The Grosvenor selection is broadly categorised under ‘Live Casino’, ‘Slots’, ‘Sport’, ‘Casinos’, ‘Jackpots’, ‘Table’, ‘Poker’, and ‘Promos’ sections. There are several subcategories under each tab, considerably streamlining the navigational aspect compared to casinos with a less practical design.

The slot sections were particularly interesting, including things like ‘Top 20’ and ‘Grosvenor’s Hidden Gems’ alongside the usual options. Elsewhere, the jackpot slots were separated into several categories like Jackpot King and Mega Jackpots. This is a particularly advantageous benefit compared to Casushi and other sites that lump all their progressive titles under one category.

Grosvenor also offers a level of polish regarding its software and general design that you can only experience at other certified industry leaders like Paddy Power. The website is instantly responsive and doesn’t look like it would ever have any glitches.

Software

The Grosvenor casino library features various elite-level software providers, working extremely closely with brands like Eyecon to create exclusives such as Fluffy Favourites Luckytap. Other developer highlights include NetEnt, Big Time Gaming, IGT, and Pragmatic Play. I also enjoyed the dedication to showcasing smaller developers. For example, Grosvenor had a Gameenvy spotlight at the time of writing, introducing me to slots like Clover Rainbow 6 Deluxe and Wild Hero.

If I had to be picky, I’d have two small complaints. Firstly, there are no search options to select games by software developer, not even using the search bar. Paddy Power is better in this regard, offering players numerous search functions. However, the Irish gambling powerhouse also has fewer software providers. My second complaint would be a lack of Relax Gaming titles. This burgeoning provider is available at places like Rainbow Riches, and I did miss the opportunity to play forward-thinking titles like Money Train 4 at Grosvenor.

Games

As you’d expect from such a prestigious gambling brand, Grosvenor ticks all boxes and then some with its gaming selection. I enjoyed a remarkably multifaceted set of possibilities, from classic slots to live dealer games and a dedicated poker platform. The only thing missing was bingo, so the operator lags behind frontrunners like Virgin Games and Rainbow Riches for broad gaming variety alone.

But it’s difficult to beat Grosvenor once you delve into the actual gaming categories, with many options available for each genre. All the hallmarks of a certified casino juggernaut are present, including exclusive in-house designed slots and live dealer games from actual Grosvenor casino locations.

I enjoyed online slot exclusives like Grosvenor Branded Megaways, Fluffy Favourites Luckytap, and the Eternal Widow, providing the rare opportunity to play slots I’ve never experienced before. Elsewhere, the ‘Grosvenor Hidden Gems’ section also gave a chance to try lesser-known games like Dragons Cache. The casino also does a good job of bridging the land-based/online divide with its ‘In Club’ category, featuring games like Cleopatra and Fishin’ Frenzy popular at brick-and-mortar terminals.

I could tell Grosvenor would have a sublime collection of jackpot titles from the fact there was a dedicated ‘Jackpots’ category separate from the rest of the slots. Players can choose from Grosvenor-branded jackpots, IGT Mega Jackpots (the same software provider behind the legendary Las Vegas Megabucks machines), and the Blueprint Jackpot King network. The operator also stocks ten Mega Moolah titles and five WowPot!, but for some reason these weren’t listed under the jackpots tab. You’ll need to use the search bar in the right-hand corner to access these.

Despite the fantastic online slots library, I prefer Grosvenor for its live dealer setup. The operator has ten exclusive studio tables covering several roulette and blackjack options. These even include The Vic London Roulette, Glasgow Roulette, and Sheffield Roulette – live dealer games streamed from real-life Grosvenor locations.

Grosvenor also has over 200 options from certified live dealer providers like Evolution and Authentic. The inclusion of live casino poker was one of my main highlights, something I very rarely see anywhere else. And speaking of poker, players can also access a powerful online poker platform offering some of the industry’s biggest and most prestigious tournaments.

Slots

Like other sites in the UK, Grosvenor Casino seems to favour the slots category for the greatest range of titles. There are just shy of 150 titles here at the time of writing and the diversity is truly impressive. You can find classic 3-reel slots, modern-day 5-reel slots, progressive jackpots, Megaways and so much more. The graphics are fantastic for the majority of games and, with other features such as in-game bonuses and re-spins, you won’t grow tired of these video slots in a hurry.

To draw your attention to some of the currently featured games, be sure to check out Anubis Wild Megaways, Rhino Rampage, Legacy of Dead, and Book of Ra.

Live Casino

The live casino at Grosvenor Casino is truly awesome and we don’t say that lightly. There is a barrage of games open to all members here, including poker, game shows, roulette, blackjack and baccarat. Many of the games you’ll find come from the provider Evolution Gaming, who are industry leaders when it comes to live casino action.

As such, you will experience flawless streaming, customised camera angles and even in-game chats. It really is an impressive section to check out and, for the best games, you may want to look into Mega Ball 100, Lightning Roulette, Power Blackjack and Monopoly Live.

Cashier

Grosvenor has a more limited range of payment methods than Mr Play, for example. It lacks Skrill, Neteller, MuchBetter, Trustly, AstroPay, and other options available at many other casinos, but this is the only real flaw. The complete set of choices includes:

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • PayPal
  • Paysafecard
  • Apple Pay

I enjoyed the lightning-fast withdrawals, with the Grosvenor payment team processing all withdrawals instantly. The casino has Fast Withdrawal support as well, so funds should reach your account within minutes. As a result, Grosvenor is one of the fastest sites on the market for withdrawals, a notable selling point. The £5 minimum withdrawal and deposit amount for most methods was also more favourable than I’ve seen elsewhere.

Support Options

Mobile Experience

Regardless of whether they choose the HTML5 website or native mobile app, Grosvenor players will have an excellent experience playing on their smartphones. I certainly did, with the website catering perfectly to smaller screens. The smooth and glitch-free software really shines through here, minimising loading times and contributing to the impressive experience.

App Review

Grosvenor also has iOS and Android native apps that further enhance the mobile gambling experience. The app has a 4.2 out of 5 rating on the App Store and 4.0 out of 5 on the Google Play marketplace, so it’s clear others agree.

Summary

I cannot fault Grosvenor on many aspects overall. The only real drawbacks are the relatively small welcome bonus and limited payment methods, but the operator makes up for these small pitfalls with numerous selling points. I enjoyed the exclusive slots and live dealer games, regular ongoing promotions, near-instantaneous withdrawals, and smooth software. On top of everything else, you enjoy the satisfaction of playing with a certified UK gambling brand.

I only signed up for the online Grosvenor account to get the bonus in one of their actual casino locations but i'm glad I did - there are loads of good games here and the site definitely feels like it's better designed than lots of others
