JackpotCity Casino Review

JackpotCity is one of the veterans of the online casino world. Having launched in the previous century, this casino boasts over 25 years of experience, gaining popularity with players all over the world. Today, JackpotCity offers a comprehensive online casino platform with a variety of gaming types.

I’ll be discussing all of this site’s most exciting features in this detailed review, which also includes some areas I think the casino could improve. But if you’re just looking for a few quick reasons why you should – or shouldn’t – sign-up to this site, check out this brief list of pros and cons.

Bonuses & Promo

Bonuses & Promotions

Making a first deposit at JackpotCity comes with significant rewards: a 100% matched deposit up to £100, plus 100 free spins to use on Fortune Factory Studios’ Gold Blitz. You’ll need to deposit a minimum of £20 in order to qualify, but the bonus money and the free spins will land in your account as soon as you do so.

The cash side of this bonus comes with wagering requirement of 50x, which is a little steep for my liking. It means those claiming the smallest amount will need to wager a total of £1,000 (£20 x 50) before they can collect any welcome bonus winnings. If you want access to the full offer, playthrough requirements increase to £5,000 (£100 x 50). The good news is that the 100 free spins come with no wagering requirements, so anything you win via them can be withdrawn immediately.

The second highlight in the promotions page is JackpotCity’s Mega Money Wheel – a daily free-to-play game that dishes out ten free spins to those who opt-in and have deposited and staked £20 within the previous 28 days. There’s a maximum win of £1m per spin, but bear in mind that wagering requirements on any winnings are set at 30x.

JackpotCity also subscribes to Pragmatic Play’s Drops & Wins syndicate, in which 1,500 random players are selected every day to receive a prize between £10 and £2,500. All you need to do to be in with a chance is opt-in and launch one of the participating games. And if you perform particularly well throughout the week, you could land a jackpot prize of £25,000.

The final thing to mention here is JackpotCity’s loyalty reward scheme. Earn points by depositing and playing at this casino and progress through the VIP ranks. There are six tiers in total, and all players start with Bronze status – the higher you progress, the better the rewards. You’ll earn 2,500 points just for making your first deposit, which sets you well on your way.

Design & Usability

There are elements of the JackpotCity site that are well-designed and other areas that could do with some improvement. My first impression of the site was good, with clearly segregated gaming sections at the top of the page making it easy to know where I should head according to my own playing preferences. I always like to see a section dedicated to the casino’s software providers, which allows players to stick to studios they know they enjoy.

Scrolling down the homepage, the game categorisation continues to please. There are dedicated sections for the site’s best games and its new additions, as well as two sections for jackpot slots alone – one of this casino’s big selling points.

But once you get to the bottom of the page, site design becomes less impressive. There’s lots of useful text summing up the site and its features, but it’s almost impossible to read. Sure, you can zoom in to make it more legible, but that doesn’t scream good design to me. It’s a shame because the text is useful, and it’s the sort of thing I usually praise during my reviews. When you combine this with the all-black background, everything starts to feel a little close and boxy.

Software

The smallish size of the games library inevitably means that JackpotCity is also a little lacking in software partnerships, but there are still some huge names on the roster. The casino is most proud of its partnerships with Games Global, Pragmatic Play, Evolution, Gaming Realms, Hacksaw and 1×2 – all of these studios have dedicated sections for their games, but other providers are overlooked for some reason. I think it’s simply a case of celebrating their most prolific partners, but it does seem odd not to include a full list of the providers hosted on-site.

I’d like to see more titles by NetEnt, Nolimit City, Blueprint, Yggdrasil and Play’n GO. These are some of my favourite developers, and I think a casino of JackpotCity’s longevity could do a better job of fostering relationships with some of the biggest names in the online casino industry.

Games

This casino is all about jackpot slots, so if that’s your jam, I recommend signing up. In the Big Jackpots section, practically every title is a Mega Moolah-modified version of a classic slot, such as Immortal Romance Mega Moolah and Thunderstruck II Mega Moolah. In most cases, the Mega Moolah variant takes precedent over the original game.

There’s a separate section for Daily Jackpots where prizes are smaller. JackpotCity is good at alerting players when jackpots are about to drop – keep an eye on the game’s thumbnail for an indication of when the big prizes are ready to spin for.

This commitment to jackpot games seems to come at the expense of a big library. There are just over 400 slots in total, which is significantly smaller than at other leading casinos. I did find some pretty notable omissions during my review, such as Starburst, Gonzo’s Quest and Book of Dead.

Fans of classic casino games are catered for at JackpotCity, with both RNG and live dealer variants of roulette and blackjack available. The live casino also features games of baccarat and poker, and hosts nine game show-style titles such as Monopoly Live, Crazy Time, Dream Catcher and Mega Wheel.

JackpotCity could also broaden its choice of payment methods. At the moment, players can only deposit with debit cards or the e-wallets PayPal, Skrill and Neteller. There’s no doubt that these methods will suit most players, but the best online casinos in this part of my review offer over ten different payment options. Bank transfer solutions, prepaid cards and pay-by-mobile providers are all overlooked here.

There’s a £10 minimum for all options and deposits will be processed instantly, while withdrawals can be made to all methods with the exception of Skrill. In terms of withdrawal speed, JackpotCity processes each request within 24 hours; after then, payout times will depend on which payment method you’ve used. e-Wallet options are fastest, while debit cards can take a few days.

Support Options

Mobile Experience

I prefer the design of the mobile JackpotCity site compared to that on desktop. The colours are a bit clearer, thumbnails more pronounced, and the issue I had regarding text size is much improved. This casino has also managed to migrate all of its casino games over to the mobile site, which is always the stiffest challenge of mobile-optimisation. It’s not the biggest library though, so don’t praise the techies at JackpotCity too heavily.

You’ll notice that slots are organised into the same groups, such as Best Slots, New Slots, Big Jackpots, Daily Jackpots and Megaways. Table game fans may want to head straight to the Live Casino, Blackjack and Roulette tabs at the top of the screen.

App Review

Mobile players can also download the JackpotCity mobile app for an enhanced playing experience, where loading times are faster, promotions are more targeted, and bonuses are seized upon thanks to push notifications. Simply head to the App Store if you’re on iOS, or the Play Store if you use an Android.

Summary

JackpotCity has been a staple of the online casino network for over 25 years, which is testament to its success. New players should love the welcome offer, which offers a significant chunk of bonus cash and a big bundle of free spins. The wagering requirements are high on the cash but non-existent on the spins, which is rare for such a large number.

After that, you can earn free spins every day without making a deposit, rank in tournaments for additional cash prizes, and collect loyalty points in exchange for further rewards. 24/7 live chat support and a mobile app are also indicative of a classy, experienced operator.

But as with all casinos, the platform isn’t perfect. I’d like more casino games added, particularly from major games studios currently missing from the collection. There’s also room for additional payment methods, particularly a prepaid card like Paysafecard or a bank transfer system like Trustly. But it should be noted that the inclusion of debit cards and PayPal – the two most popular payment methods – mean that the list will work for most players.
