Luckster Casino Review

New for UK players in 2022 is Luckster, an online casino with an Irish theme. The site is owned by Marketplay Ltd, the name behind other top brands like Spin Rio and Mr Play.

Along with a sizable library of games covering everything from slots and roulette to baccarat and bingo, Luckster also offers a sportsbook product — highly convenient if you’re not just a fan of casino games.

Read on for the full lowdown on Luckster, including bonuses, software, banking, and more — who knows, maybe some of that Irish luck will rub off!

Bonuses & Promo

Bonuses & Promotions

Luckster offers new customers a welcome package consisting of matched deposit bonuses and free spins. Here’s what’s on offer:

  • First day – Players can kick off by depositing a minimum of £10 to receive 20 spins on Book of Dead plus a 100% match bonus. That means a £10 deposit would return £10 in bonus credit.
  • Second day – Minimum £20 deposit to receive 40 spins on Fire Joker.
  • Third day – Minimum £20 deposit to receive 40 spins on 9 Masks of Fire.

On the whole this is a decent welcome offer. The first day deal is certainly the best value, with a nice combination of bonus credit and extra spins. However, having to deposit a further £40 to unlock the remaining spins bonuses isn’t ideal, especially as that means players would have to deposit at least £50 in total to get the full value of the bonus.

Still, I’m always pleased to see multiple slot games included in a welcome deal — in this case we have two games from Play’n GO alongside Gameburger Studios’ 9 Masks of Fire.

A 35x wagering requirement applies to the bonus amount and any winnings from the extra spins. That means if you deposit £10 to get a £10 bonus, you’d need to wager a further £350 of your own cash in order to withdraw any winnings from the bonus. Although 35x wagering is about the average, it’ll still be difficult for most players to fulfil the requirements within the 21-day time limit.

As for any additional T&Cs, the bonus will be forfeited if you place a single bet of £4 or more before the wagering has been met. Additionally, the maximum matched deposit bonus available is £200, which would require a £100 deposit. There’s also a maximum win cap of £500 — if you win more than that amount, you’ll only receive £500.

Due to the wagering requirements, most players will find it difficult to secure a cash return from this offer. Luckster’s welcome bonus is therefore best suited to players that would like to try out the site and get to grips with a variety of popular slot games. If you’re keen to get something a bit extra from a welcome deal, I’d recommend checking out All British Casino — it offers a similar bonus but throws in 10% lifetime cashback.

Design & Usability

Luckster’s website design is a bit of a mixed bag. Although I enjoy the green and white lucky Irish theme, there are areas of the site that could be presented with more care. The terms and conditions of the welcome offer aren’t particularly clear and the help centre could do with a lick of paint.

As for navigating the site and finding games to play, there’s a lot of room for improvement. I was pleased to be able to search for games by developer, but overall the filtering options are severely lacking. When browsing on my laptop, there wasn’t even an option to view table and live casino games besides typing them into the search bar. Thankfully there is a live casino tab on the mobile site, but it’s frustrating for this to not be consistent across all devices.

Luckster could certainly make it easier to narrow down searches for slot games as well. Voodoo Dreams, for example, has a high volatility slots category, while other casinos allow players to browse by developers, themes or mechanics. That said, Luckster does highlight themed games around certain holidays, such as its excellent collection of spooky slots for Halloween.

Software

On the whole, Luckster features most of the big-name software providers, including NetEnt, Play’n GO, Pragmatic Play, and Microgaming. Playtech and Novomatic are two of the big absentees, but there’s plenty of quality in the slots library regardless.

If you’re like me and enjoy checking out titles from smaller developers, you won’t be disappointed — Ainsworth, Lightning Box, and Bally Wulff and more all feature. In the future, we’d love to see the inclusion of Yggdrasil and Nolimit City, as they’re two of the best when it comes to innovative slot mechanics.

Evolution supplies the majority of live casino games alongside a couple of other well-renowned studios such as Pariplay, so you’re in safe hands there too.

Games

Luckster’s collection of over 2,000 games has plenty to offer players of all tastes and interests. One thing I really like about the slots catalogue is that all the classics are covered alongside their more modern iterations. NetEnt’s Gonzo’s Quest is joined by Gonzo’s Quest Megaways and Gonzo’s Treasure Hunt, while you’ll also find Starburst, Starburst XXXtreme, and Slingo Starburst.

Fans of table games like blackjack and roulette also won’t be disappointed. There are 59 roulette games, 71 blackjack, and plenty more including sic bo, poker and baccarat. There’s certainly a greater emphasis on live games than RNG titles, but the inclusion of Inspired’s 20p Roulette is ideal for players on smaller budgets.

There are plenty of live game shows available to play at Luckster too. Evolution’s Crazy Time is a colourful extravaganza, with players guided through the game by a live host. Place your bets and spin the wheel to reveal wins, multipliers, and bonus games. Another great option is Mega Ball, which combines elements of lottery and bingo in a fun live casino setting.

Slots

Although developers like Playtech and Novomatic are sorely missed, there’s still plenty of slots action to sink your teeth into at Luckster.

With the bulk of the games coming from Play’n GO, NetEnt, and Pariplay — now releasing titles under the Wizard Games brand — you can enjoy fan favourites like Starburst, Book of Dead, and Gonzo’s Quest alongside a plethora of lesser-known titles.

The slot library is diverse, packed with titles featuring exciting mechanics like Megaways and InfiniReels, as well as a broad range of RTPs and volatilities to suit all players. There’s a host of branded games too, including Guns N’ Roses and Game of Thrones slots.

Table Games

Table games are a little thin on the ground at Luckster, with coverage reserved for roulette and blackjack. For the former, you’ll find American and European wheels, and the latter comes in Vegas Strip, multi-hand, and single-deck variants.

There’s also one RNG baccarat title, but you’ll have much more choice if you switch over to the live casino section — there’s also live sic bo and poker available here, two table games absent from the RNG library.

Live Casino

The live casino offering at Luckster is comprehensive and is one of its strongest aspects, with titles from both Pariplay and top dog Evolution Gaming. Between these developers, pretty much every base is covered — there are many variants of blackjack, roulette, sic bo, baccarat, and poker. Throw in game shows like Monopoly Live and Deal or No Deal and there’s truly something for everyone.

In every live dealer game, a professional croupier will guide you through the action, with each round streamed to your device from a purpose-built studio set. While most tables are designed to look like a real casino, certain games and shows are more fantastical — Gonzo’s Treasure Hunt is a great example.

A particularly useful feature of Luckster’s live library is the staking and player information. At a glance, you’ll be able to see the minimum and maximum bets and how many players are currently in the game. If all the seats are full, you may be able to ‘bet behind’, where bets are placed on the main seats.

As for table stakes, live roulette bets range from just £0.10 up to £10,000, while blackjack ranges from £0.50 to £5,000. It’s true you can find higher stakes at other online casinos, but we expect most players will be happy with these limits.

Cashier

Luckster supports a strong range of payment methods to cater to lots of different needs and preferences. Fast withdrawals are easy to come by thanks to the inclusion of e-wallets like PayPal, AstroPay, Skrill and MuchBetter.

If you’d prefer to keep things old school, Visa and Mastercard debit cards can be used for both deposits and withdrawals, as can bank transfers. I opted for Trustly for my first couple of payments and received a payout within 24 hours.

None of the payment methods are listed as ineligible for unlocking deposit bonuses for new customers, although using Skrill limits single bets to £2.50 rather than £4 when fulfilling the wagering requirements.

There are no fees when it comes to making deposits and withdrawals at Luckster, although Skrill does charge some fees when withdrawing from the e-wallet to a bank account. The wide range of digital wallets available to choose from ensures players can pick one that best suits their needs.

I’m always happy to see Paysafecard included in the list of available payment methods, as it gives customers another option if they’d prefer not to share their bank details or passwords.

Here’s a rundown of all the options and the processing speeds provided.

Mobile Experience

Luckster’s mobile site is laid out in much the same way as the desktop version. I found it easy to use, with each page loading quickly and without any lag. The vast majority of the games catalogue is available to play on mobile, but there are a few titles missing — 43 roulette and 59 blackjack games feature, compared to 59 and 71 if you’re on a laptop.

Like the desktop site, there aren’t a great deal of filtering options on mobile. That said, there is an additional live casino tab, but it’s strange to not be able to click through to see baccarat, game shows, craps, and more.

App Review

Luckster doesn’t offer a mobile app, which is disappointing considering it’s a well-established site that also comes with an online sportsbook. Still, if you fancy spinning the roulette wheel or placing a bet on the go, you can head over to the mobile site via a browser.

Summary

So, what’s our overall take on Luckster? There’s certainly plenty to draw players in, from the extensive games library to the attractive welcome offer. The range of game shows and live dealer games is particularly impressive, as well as the variety of software providers contributing to the slots catalogue.

Kicking off with bonus credit and free spins is certainly a good way to go, it’s just a shame that there are so many restrictive T&Cs to contend with — not to mention a lack of promotions for returning customers. Still, you’ll get a decent amount of free play from the welcome offer if you’re willing to make multiple qualifying deposits.

Additional plus points include the wide range of payment options, which ensure players can secure fast withdrawals from several different methods. I also like the fact there’s an integrated sportsbook, so I can do all my betting in one place.

With a few design tweaks and a mobile app, Luckster could be one of the most appealing online casinos on the market. I’d like to see it adopt some features found at the likes of Betfair, such as a no wagering welcome bonus, low minimum payments, and various ongoing promotions.
