Design & Usability

If you’re already familiar with other Aspire Global casinos, MagicRed will probably look pretty familiar. A number of navigation bars are used to switch between RNG and live casino games, to access promotions, and to sort between different categories.

Unfortunately, MagicRed’s usability is what currently lets it down. We found the majority of filtering options either turned up irrelevant results — such as a large number of slots in the table games section — or simply didn’t work. We also experienced some lag while using the search feature. We’re hoping we can chalk these shortcomings up to the fact it’s early days for this casino, and that navigating the library will be improved in the future.

In terms of the site’s design itself, there’s nothing particularly captivating about MagicRed. But for many players, there doesn’t need to be. We’d much rather see a simple site where it’s easy to understand what you’re looking at, rather than a more complicated and messy experience. The minimal red and white theme is easy on the eye, and helps the colourful thumbnails stand out as you scroll through the games.

Software

There’s a solid range of software providers behind the library at MagicRed. Most of the big names are checked off, including NetEnt, Microgaming, and Play’n GO. We’re glad to see the inclusion of smaller developers like Hacksaw Gaming and Nolimit City, diversifying the mix of slots on offer. Meanwhile, a smattering of live dealer games comes courtesy of Evolution and Pragmatic — the best in the business.

Games

We’re pleased to see that MagicRed is fairly well-equipped when it comes to table games. Blackjack fans will be content thanks to classic and multihand titles, along with regional variants like Vegas Strip and Downtown plus Atlantic City blackjack.

The roulette offering is solid too, with a number of classic European and American titles. Those on smaller budgets needn’t miss out either thanks to the inclusion of 10p and 20p Roulette games.

The rest of MagicRed’s table game library is currently a bit sparse. We couldn’t find any craps or sic bo games, although there is a solitary baccarat title from Microgaming. As with the live dealer catalogue, we hope to see more table games introduced at MagicRed as time goes on.

The cashier at MagicRed is one of its stand-out features. There’s a fantastic selection of methods supported for both deposits and withdrawals.

Of course, Visa and Mastercard debit cards are supported and will be the method of choice for many players. But there’s strong e-wallet coverage as well, with PayPal, Skrill, and MuchBetter all present. While Neteller is lacking, e-wallet users will likely be happy with one of the above.

If you’d like to keep your banking details private, Paysafecard and AstroPay are your two prepaid card options — with the latter doubling up as an e-wallet for withdrawals.

In terms of improvements, we’d love to see MagicRed offer a pay by mobile option such as Boku or Payforit. But with many other bases covered, this certainly isn’t an issue.

MagicRed Casino delivers a fair standard of customer support. Players have two options — live chat and email, available from 08:00–00:00 CET seven days a week. These times should align with when most players are active on the site.

There are certainly some areas to improve upon. First, access to the live chat feature is not made obvious. It’s not available from the ‘Contact Us’ page and must instead be found via the FAQs page. Email support is via web form. While that’s not necessarily an issue, it would be nice to have a direct address to contact too.

We certainly don’t doubt that MagicRed has its players’ backs — we just wish they made it a little easier to get in touch without having to search around.

We tested the site on Safari for iOS and it responded well. Navigation was snappy and browsing the sizable library was manageable, even on a smaller screen. The same filtering quirks from the desktop version are here, which does make finding games a little more awkward. The good news?
