Sun Vegas is the casino arm of The Sun newspaper, so you’ll probably be familiar with this site’s red and white colour scheme. Little else has been done in terms of aesthetic design here, which may be a put off for some players, but I don’t consider it an issue.

Aesthetics is only one side of things when it comes to good casino site design, and most people would argue that functionality is more important. Sun Vegas performs well on that front, with games sections organised into Slots, Jackpots, Live Casino, Casino and Instant Wins categories.

These categories are obviously very broad, so it’s good to see Sun Vegas breaking them down further. In the Slots section, there are further categories for New, Featured, Mystery Drop, Jackpots and Megaways titles – all of which help players find exactly the kind of game they want.

I’d like to see improvements made to the search bar feature, which was quite buggy during my review and didn’t allow to filter the library by game developer. This can be particularly useful when players want to find titles from specific studios.

One thing I really like about the way Sun Vegas is designed is the inclusion of a promotion banner when you click on each game category. It’s rare to find casino bonuses targeting Casino and Live Casino sections, so this is testament to both the Sun Vegas design team and to the casino’s variety of promotions.

Software

Sun Vegas’s strong partnership with Microgaming has probably come at the expense of deals with other software developers. There are no games from NetEnt, Play’n GO and Evolution in the library, for example, which might be off-putting for some players.

But don’t fret. There’s still a strong line-up of games studios at this casino, with titles supplied by Playtech, Yggdrasil, Red Tiger, Blueprint, Pragmatic Play, Big Time Gaming, and more. I still consider this a strong cross-section of the iGaming industry, but if you’re particularly fond of games from absent studios at this casino, then I’d recommend signing up somewhere else.

There are over 700 games in Sun Vegas’s library, covering slots of all kinds, table games and live dealer action. It’s not the biggest collection out there, but it certainly covers plenty of bases, so I don’t consider this a major issue.

The design elements are identical on mobile, adjusting to the smaller screen and to different touchpoints. Simply head to the games section of your choice, just as you would on desktop, and scroll through the list. Not quite every game has been migrated over to the mobile site, but there are still over 550 for players to enjoy.
